The event “San Pellegrino in Fiore” is a unique occasion that transforms the medieval historic center of Viterbo into an eco-art exhibition, where nature blends with the city’s millennia-old history. The event offers an experience that integrates art, history, and natural beauty through land art works, artistic installations, and a fully eco-sustainable setup.

The proposal presented for this competition aims to create an immersive and sensory experience, enhanced by light as a symbolic element of new life and spring vitality. The design focuses on the illumination of gardens, plant areas, and installations, dynamically and captivatingly enhancing the spaces. The concept includes six distinct areas, each with its own theme, welcoming visitors on a journey that stimulates both contemplation and reflection. Each installation is designed to evoke emotions, engaging the public in a unique experience that celebrates the beauty of nature through sustainable practices and innovative solutions.

Sustainability is the guiding principle behind every aspect of the design, starting with the choice of materials. Local plants, recyclable and reclaimed materials are used to create lightweight but safe structures, contributing to reducing environmental impact. The tree species selected for the setup include a variety of typical plants from the region, chosen for their ability to adapt to the environment and their visual beauty. Furthermore, the design pays particular attention to the safety of participants, providing escape routes, access paths for emergency vehicles, and a strategic distribution of restrooms and healthcare assistance points.

The project aims to enhance not only the natural beauty of Viterbo but also its historical heritage, creating a harmonious balance between the past and the present, between medieval architecture and contemporary art, to offer visitors an experience that stimulates the senses and invites reflection on the importance of sustainability and respect for the environment.
